Would you believe that all of this pensiveness was provoked by the contents of an email? Yes – and whats more surprising was the sender of that email – “Ebay.” of all people. This is what they sent me:

This was a congratulatory email for being a member of Ebay for 5 years. Why is that so special you might ask. Well, I’m not a big Ebay guy… matter of fact I don’t really do much on Ebay these days. Would you believe that on that day 5 short years ago I was at the end of my rope?

That day was Dec 14th 2006, after leaving the medical field and moved to florida I had fallen into quite a rutt. I was making good money but I was in debt up to my  eyeballs and I wasn’t going to be able to buy any Christmas presents. As a matter of fact I couldn’t even afford Christmas cards. That’s where my journey began.

Like millions of people, I turned to ebay to try and make some quick cash. First I thought I could sell some old stuff I had in the closet. Later I learned of, ebay as a business and set out to become a power seller. Soon thereafter I came across my very first Ebook. The concept of slling something digital on Ebay totally ROCKED my world. It became my goal to get good at it and eventually I found a man who called himself “PlanetSMS” (to this day I still don’t know what the heck that means)

But anyhoo… This Planet SMS guy specialized on selling ebooks on Ebay and he seemed to be making a killing at it so I decided to learn from him and I purchased  several of his product. I started making a little money with ebooks but not much. Frankly… the “Big” picture eluded me. I just couldn’t wrap my head around selling an ebook for pennies. I mean one would have to sell thousands per month to make a living.

Here we are in 2010, sounds more like the title of a Sci-Fi movie to me than the current year, but never the less it is in fact 2010 and a new age is upon us. Not quite like the age predicted by George Orwell in “1984″ but it is quite an exciting time to be alive indeed. These times are exciting to me because never before in history have humans seen such rapid evolution in technology. The printing press was invented only 600 years ago and that sparked the Industrial Revolution, a futuristic age of advanced communication. The printing press enabled humans to share information with one another at huge speeds.

Before the mass production of books, a doctor would spend his whole life learning about medicine and then die before sharing his discoveries. The printing press enabled the learning and sharing of knowledge around the world through books like never before. Nowadays doctors and all sorts of professionals around the world can share knowledge, and experiences at lightning speed. The communication age has never been faster. The internet was the catalyst for this recent communication evolution and now there is one website that has altered the communication landscape forever. Facebook.

Make No Mistake About It, Facebook is not a fad. With now well over 500 Million users if Facebook was a country it would be the third largest country on the planet. More people are on Facebook at any given time than any other website on the web, including Google. Facebook has become the meeting grounds for reconnection with old friends that you may have otherwise never spoken to again in your life. In 2009 1 of every 8 couple who got married met on Facebook.

A couple of years ago we were all talking about Twitter, a free website that allowed us to “Tweet” with followers in 140 character messages. The commercialization of “Smart phones” like the Apple I-phone and Google Android enabled mobile web surfing and “Tweeting” so one could update the world of “What They Are Doing Now” in real time. Advances in Camera phones began to enable us to load instant “Life” photo’s and videos like never before. More and more people became hooked on the web as a way to “stay connected” with the real world. And now… Facebook has combined all of the above under one roof to become an online “human connection superpower”.

As entrepreneurs it would be foolish for us to ignore the power of Facebook. No platform, or medium has ever brought together a greater aggregation of potential customers under one roof than Facebook. It has become so powerful that it reminds me of “Skynet” becoming self aware in the “Terminator” movies. Even though self awareness is a bit far fetched for now, Facebook marketing is a very grounded concept with a great deal of merit. It just makes common business sense to attract business with Facebook.

Whether you have an existing business and you want to attract customers or even if you want to build a complete NEW business model around the potential buyers already on Facebook, now is the time. There is tons of opportunity in all niches. As a matter of fact, Facebook allows you to specifically target individuals based on interests that they have listed on their profile. This is sooooo much more targeted than Google ever could be. You don’t need to be an expert marketer to do this either, heck, you don’t even need to have your own product. You could simply be the “middle man” that connects people on facebook with a product they need while keeping a nice commission for yourself.

The opportunities for Internet Marketers and entrepreneurs like us are limitless on Facebook once you know what to do. By the way, learning what to do doesn’t require a PhD in marketing either. All it takes is a little bit of your time and effort. Internet Marketing System 2: The List Building System
With an online business, the money is in the list. If you’re not building a list of people interested in the topic of your business you’ll never see any real money!

To start building a list you need a good list building system. Maybe it’s just a squeeze page giving something away for free, or maybe something complex like a free service you offer just to get people on your list.

Of all the systems I would say this is the most important one!

Internet Marketing System 3: The Affiliate System
If you have your own products and services you can sky rocket your income by having an affiliate program. Once you have an affiliate program in place it’s important to have a system that recruits affiliates for you, so that they promote for you.

I have an “affiliate hub” that gives away free affiliate training. We drive traffic to it, train people to promote our products, and it does wonderfully well with affiliate recruitment!

Internet Marketing System 4: Found Money System
I call this the found money system because it’s like finding extra money. Instead of just having one product to sell have several products that sell in an automated system. This can be in your initial sales process or by using an autoresponder.

Internet Marketing System 5: Traffic System
Last but certainly not least the traffic system. You must have systems in place that continually drive traffic to your website. Outsourcing your traffic generation is the best way to go. You can simply hire people to run these traffic systems for you, and it will free up your time a lot.

You’ve got to find what works for you and use that traffic system over and over again!

There are many types of squeeze pages, this module explains the basic squeeze page fundamentals. This is the process map that I review in the video. Click to expand:

Squeeze page is made of three pages, a landing page, a confirmation page and a download page. The main purpose of a squeeze page is to capture the visitors name and email address. This is typically done by way of an ethical bribe. An ethical bribe is where you offer something of value for free in exchange for the visitor to subscribe to your list.

Regardless of how good your free gift is or how enticing your bribe sounds, it all means diddly squat without traffic. It’s important that you understand that traffic is the life blood of your squeeze page and list building. Therefore you must set aside time to drive traffic daily. No traffic is free. There are two ways that you pay for traffic, you can pay with money or you can pay with time.

The landing page is the first thing your visitor sees. The key to a successful squeeze landing page is to keep the design simple. Avoid fancy graphics that distract the visitors eyes from the message. Studies have found that a product image on the left and a web form on the right tends to work best. Create a captivating headline and use simple copy points to describe your freebie. I have over 2 dozen squeeze pages, take a look at the most successful one below. I have split tested every single part of this page and this was the winning formula: SEE IT HERE.

The moment your visitor clicks the submit button, they must be taken to a confirmation page. Do not overlook this step. Always ask your visitor to confirm their subscription before they get their free product. I recommend an audio message with exact instruction. Many auto responders do this for you.

Once the customer goes to their email and clicks on the confirmation link, they are officially subscribed to your list. It is very important that you keep in contact with them as a smart marketer, you will have a pre-made auto responder series of emails, at least 30 of them. These emails are preset into your campaign to go out every 3 to 4 days. Use these emails to build a relationship with the subscriber.

Now its time to deliver the free product. I suggest that you always do this by means of a download page. Don’t just send them the link to the product in an email. By sending them to a download page, with a link to the product, you can also make them affiliate offers or invite them to another one of your websites.

The final thing that you remember in the whole squeeze process is that you’re in business to make money, not to collect names. Always try to monetize the back end of your opt in process with offers to congruent affiliate products. This means that if they opted in for a dog training book, you should suggest dog training products and not an ebook about stock trading. Also, invite them back to your blog to learn more about you.

One of the best possible solutions for increasing conversions is to offer a bonus as an incentive.  You can’t just offer any bonus, though. It should be something that is related to the original affiliate offer, and it should be something truly valuable that complements the affiliate product well.

Actually it is more like a big fat note book with a bunch of different sized sheets of paper sticking out of it. As I was building my business I wrote down EVERYTHING. Keep in mind that I was a total newbie and I was not very technically inclined either so it would take me 3x as long as the average person to learn something.
